Empire City (California)
The Empire City Historic Landmark is a California Historic Landmark in honor of the pioneers who settled on the south bank of the Tuolumne River and called their town ''Empire City'', which was elected as the county seat of
Stanislaus County in 1854. The town was destroyed by a flood in 1862, but reconstructed 40 years later 1 mile inland. The memorial is located in Empire, California and was relocated from Santa Fe Ave. to the new Empire Community Park.
